Transition Questions

Q: How are the starting Reward Points and Reward Credits determined for existing players?

We will begin awarding starting Reward Points and Reward Credits to all current players during maintenance based on their playing and purchase history in TERA. We expect the distribution of Reward Points to be complete after the maintenance. However, the Reward Credits may take longer to distribute. All players should receive their starting Reward Credits by 5 p.m. PDT on April 15, 2016.

Current players will receive starting Reward Points and Reward Credits during the transition based on the four qualifications described below:

  • 5,000 Reward Points and 500 Reward Credits for any player with a Founder account as of March 31 at 11:59 p.m. PDT.
  • 1,000 Reward Points and 100 Reward Credits for each Level 65 character on the player's account as of March 31 at 11:59 p.m. PDT.
  • 1,500 Reward Points and 150 Reward Credits for each month a player was subscribed to Elite Status from February 2013 through March 31, 2016.
  • Each player will receive an amount of Reward Points and Reward Credits relative to their total amount of EMP spent to date (1 EMP Spent = 1 Reward Point, 10 EMP Spent = 1 Reward Credit)

Q: Will Elite Status Vouchers or Chronoscrolls add to starting Reward Points and Reward Credits?

No. Only paid subscriptions to elite status contribute to starting Reward Points and Reward Credits. For each month a player paid for an elite status subscription, that player will receive 1,500 Reward Points and 150 Reward Credits. Elite status time earned through the use of Chronoscrolls or Elite Status Vouchers do not qualify for the elite status starting award, although the EMP spent on these items will count toward the EMP starting award.

Q: Will purchases from before February 2013 add to starting Reward Points and Reward Credits?

No. Only store purchases made with EMP (which was introduced in February 2013) will count toward the starting rewards.

Q: Does the amount paid for each month's elite status subscription affect the amount of Reward Points and Reward Credits awarded during the transition?

No, the starting Reward Points and Reward Credits for elite status subscriptions is calculated by adding the total months of paid subscription time, not the amount paid over the course of those months. For each month renewed prior to March 31, 2016, players will receive 1,500 Reward Points and 150 Reward Credits.

Q: Do promotional elite status subscriptions awarded manually by En Masse Entertainment (e.g., as a contest reward) grant starting club rewards? Or are these starting rewards only for paid subscriptions?

Promotional elite status subscription time is not counted toward starting Reward Points and Reward Credits and will not qualify for Reward Points and Reward Credits in the future.

Q: Is there a "cap" on the starting club rewards?

There is no cap on the starting Reward Points and Reward Credits that players can receive. Players will receive varying amounts of total Reward Points and Reward Credits based on the four factors described here. Players with Founder Accounts, numerous level-65 characters, long-term paid Elite status subscriptions, and who have spent large amounts of EMP will receive amounts of Reward Points and Reward Credits that reflect their high level of loyalty.

Program Questions

Q: What benefits do players gain at each level of Reward Tier?

This question is answered in the TERA Rewards Game Guide.

Q: How many Reward Points do I get from spending EMP?

Players earn 1 Reward Point for every 1 EMP spent to purchase items in the TERA Store, the in-game store, or for purchases of gift boxes or Kyra's Catalysts. Note that players do not earn Reward Points from purchasing EMP, only from spending it.

Q: How many Reward Credits do I get from spending EMP?

Players earn 1 Reward Credit for every 10 EMP spent.

Q: Will monthly elite status subscriptions award Reward Points and Reward Credits moving forward?

Yes. Elite status subscription renewals will award Reward Points and Reward Credits moving forward. Upon monthly renewal of a player's elite status subscription, they will receive 1,500 Reward Points and 150 Reward Credits. This amount is fixed regardless of a player's subscription price.

Q: Will purchases of Steam DLC made through Steam trigger club rewards?

No. Only Elite status subscriptions and EMP spent to purchase items in the online or in-game TERA stores or through promotions such as gift boxes or Kyra's Potion Shack will award Reward Points and Reward Credits.

Q: What in-game content awards Reward Points and Reward Credits?

Select Vanguard Initiative quests will award Reward Points on a daily basis. Once players unlock the exclusive TERA Rewards dungeon at Reward Tier 1, they can earn in-game Reward Credits by playing through this exclusive dungeon content once per day. Players also receive a daily allotment of Reward Credits, which they can redeem by logging in to TERA.

Q: What is the daily cap for earning in-game Reward Points?

Players can earn approximately 660 Reward Points per day by in-game means.

Q: Is there a cap on daily Reward Credits earned in-game?

Players only earn Reward Credits in game by playing through the TERA Rewards dungeon. The amount of Reward Credits a player can earn in the TERA Rewards dungeon depends on the player's current Reward Tier level.

Q: Does the TERA Rewards dungeon drop weapons, armor, accessories, glyphs, or any other gear in addition to Reward Credits?

No. The TERA Rewards dungeon only awards Reward Credits. This dungeon is a reward for attaining Reward Tier 1 and has no impact on gear progression.

Q: What happens to earned Reward Points and Reward Credits if I get an EMP refund (e.g., due to an accidental double-purchase)?

If a player earns Reward Points and Reward Credits from an EMP purchase, and that EMP is later refunded for any reason, the earned Reward Points and Reward Credits will be removed from that player's account.

Q: What if I already spent the Reward Credits in the TERA Rewards Store?

For a refund of an accidental EMP purchase to be processed, both the EMP and the Reward Credits must be available to be removed. If a player does not have enough Reward Credits to process the refund, the EMP will not be refunded.

Q: Are exclusive items purchased through the TERA Rewards Emporium or earned when reaching new Reward Tiers tradable?

Exclusive club rewards, such as the accessories available in the TERA Rewards Emporium at Reward Tier 8 and the mounts available at Reward Tier 10 are not tradable. The TERA Rewards Emporium does have other, non-exclusive items that players can purchase, however, and these items are tradable. Hovering over an item in the Emporium will display a tooltip window that lists its various restrictions, including whether the item is tradable or not.

Q: Can I put exclusive TERA Rewards items in the bank and share them between characters or are they bound per character?

The exclusive items available through the TERA Rewards Emporium are bankable. Hovering over an item in the Emporium will display a tooltip window that lists its various restrictions.

Q: If I use EMP I won through a promotion (such as an online contest) or received as a prize (e.g., from Kyra's Potion Shack) to purchase items, do I get Reward Points and Reward Credits for spending that EMP?

Yes. EMP won through a contest, or from Kyra's Pop-Up Potion Shack or Golden Gift Boxes will grant Reward Points and Reward Credits once spent. Promotional EMP is treated the same as purchased EMP for the sake of awarding Reward Points and Reward Credits.

Q: Does spending EMP on a server transfer award Reward Points and Reward Credits?

Yes. Starting April 19 after maintenance, EMP spent on server transfers will award Reward Points and Reward Credits.

Q: Does EMP spent to use Kyra's Potion Shack (or any other non-sale transactions) award Reward Points/Reward Credits?

Yes. All purchases made with EMP will award Reward Points and Reward Credits, even transactions such as purchasing gift boxes from the Gift Center or catalysts from Kyra's Potion Shack.

Q: Does the XP boost from TERA Rewards stack with the XP boost from Elite Status?

Yes. Both XP boosts will affect your character if you have Elite Status and TERA Rewards (level 1 or higher).

Q: Does the enchanting success rate bonus from TERA Rewards affect awakened enchanting?

Yes. Both regular and awakened enchanting are affected by the enchanting bonus.
